Jeffrey was born in Hong Kong and has emigrated to the U.S. in 1967. He went to “Art Center College of Design” in Los Angeles and majored in Illustration. He worked as a freelance illustrator since then and returned to Hong Kong in 1985, where he decided to stay to the present day. He continued his career in the commercial field and has won numerous illustration awards during his professional career. He Published the book “Marker Indication Techniques “, and in 1994 he founded “Hong Kong School of Design", for people who wanted to explore their career in graphic, Interior, product, and last but not least, fashion design.

Being enthusiastic and always passionate for art, he gradually stepped out of the commercial field and developed more works of his own. Jeffrey had two solo exhibitions in 2014 and one in 2015. All exhibitions were based in Hong Kong.

He has always been a courageous artist, his works may sometimes bring you surprises both in concept and style. In many ways he experiments as well as explores different possibilities in his works. The way he uses lines, lightness and strokes to bring out the beautiful gesture and elegancy of the female form. Negative space and colours signifies feminisation while the change of colours and hues can always surprise you. Hopefully you can find a bit more contemporary and stylised presentations all painted in one piece of canvas by Jeffrey Leung.
