The Hong Kong Arts Collective is constantly looking for new venues and partners to display art with. Please read below to find out more.
What sort of venues do HKARTS look for? HKARTS looks for both corporate venues and unutilised / unoccupied space to exhibit art in. We've worked with venues from 700 to 7000 sqft.
My venue doesn't have suitable lights or many walls. Is that a problem? We appreciate any venue! With the owners permission HKARTS can install lighting. We can fabricate exhibition walls or provide temporary exhibition walls. We can also provide temporary AC solutions for summer months.
I'm concerned about potential damage during installation. What can be done? We will make good any damage done to the venue. Any holes made for installing lights or hanging paintings will be filled and repainted. If you would rather no alterations be made to the walls, floors or ceiling we can arrange to exhibit using temporary walls and lights. We treat every venue differently and will work towards a solution that best fits you.
What do I get out of it? As well as supporting local artists, HKARTS will get your venue press and exposure through its events. Our previous press includes South China Morning Post, RTHK, Ming Pao, China Daily, #Legend, Sassy, Zolima and the Hong Kong Free Press. For unutilised / unoccupied space we animate and light the space and create a local buzz. We will also forward your contacts to parties interested in renting. In general we've found that spaces rent within 1 - 3 months of our exhibitions.
What happens if someone wants to rent my unutilised space? That's great! Part of the reason for working with unutilised / unoccupied space is to find you tenants. If during a exhibition you are able to rent your space HKARTS can vacate the property in as fast as 5 - 7 business days.
