Gar Lai Lau is a Hong Kong based artist specialising in detailed pen and ink drawings. The majority of her work is focused around the urban landscape, architecture and in particular, Hong Kong's cityscapes.

Gar Lai was born in England, UK and studied Architecture at University. She is now based in Hong Kong. Gar Lai's work involves the analysis of the 3D form; it's details, connections, and adaptations of space within the built environment. Gar Lai explores her own personal experiences by drawing architecture in various states of composition, varying from detailed studies through to exploded axonometrics. She gathers inspiration from many sources, including nature, materials, technologies, and high-tech architecture. Her interpretation of existing buildings and imaginary forms allows the viewer to see very closely of her extensive fine detailing at their own pace.
