Having graduated with honours in Painting from the University of Otago in 1987, Jane Mitchell's artistic journey has taken her to diverse locations across the globe. Throughout her career, she has lived and exhibited her artwork in New Zealand, London, Jakarta, Hong Kong, and Seoul. After spending seven amazing years in Seoul, where she had the opportunity to exhibit at the Seoul Arts Center, she has recently relocated and now resides in Hong Kong, where she passionately pursues her art and prepares for upcoming exhibitions.

Beyond Jane Mitchell's artistic practice, she is also passionate about art education. Jane currently works in the Visual Arts Department at one of the leading International IB schools in Asia. As an educator, her teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in her personal goal of being a lifelong learner, constantly honing her craft, evolving her pedagogy, and establishing meaningful connections with her students. She strives to mentor individuals to become risk-takers and creative entrepreneurs, encouraging them to explore new possibilities in their artistic endeavours.

While Jane currently resides in Hong Kong, she proudly considers herself a New Zealand artist. Despite her geographical location, her artistic identity remains deeply rooted in her New Zealand heritage and influences. Throughout her career, Jane has embraced opportunities to exhibit and engage with the global art community, transcending borders and showcasing her work across various international platforms.
