Karen Hiu Ying Fong was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Vancouver, where she majored in Interior Design.


When she was young, she was always interested in many forms of art and design. She is currently exploring different mediums such as watercolour, gouache, and oil painting.

​Karen’s time in Canada - where she was able to spend winters snowboarding in the mountains - fostered her enduring love for nature. After returning to the crowded and busy city of Hong Kong, she soon found that she missed the peace and serenity of the Canadian wilderness. Many of her works are therefore inspired by those natural landscapes: clouds and mountains, rivers and streams, forests and valleys.

Using different techniques, the tranquil and picturesque narratives she paints emerge from her memory of nature’s beauty and her desire to evoke inner peace in those who view her work.
