Lina Benjumea
BIOGRAPHY
Lina Benjumea is a multi-disciplinary artist whose abstract art reflects her diverse background and life experiences. Her practice is influenced by her training as a Designer and Architect, with a fascination for the power of design to communicate complex ideas and evoke emotion. She plays with bold shapes and colors, and primarily focuses on geometric shapes while also experimenting with reclaimed materials, forms, and colors. This results in a unique aesthetic that reinterprets everyday objects and revitalizes packaging materials.
Having resided in numerous countries, including Colombia, Peru, New York, Mexico, and Hong Kong, her art is a product of these rich life experiences.
Her works have been featured in a number of exhibitions, including the Collect Hong Kong Art Fair in 2025 and Dodomu Gallery in NYC. In 2013, she was a finalist in the "Totemism: Memphis Meets Africa" exhibition curated by Li Edelkoort. She was also featured by Justina Blakeney in 2013.
