BIOGRAPHY

Working as a professional landscape designer in Hong Kong and Australia, Ricki Huang (RAart Studio) uses her professional perspective to observe the cities she lives. Creating cityscape of watercolour illustration is one way to record the local community and urban architectural aesthetic.

After moving back to Hong Kong, Ricki loves these traditional Hongkong building’s façade - demonstrating vivid living scenes and lovely dynamic streetscape in Hong Kong style. Her inspirations always come from those colorful but old small tenement buildings (or called Tong lau). She believes the buildings are not only witnessing the great changed of Hong Kong, but also are changing and adapting with time.

Her watercolour illustrations have been showcased in Raw Artist Exhibition in Sydney before. Now, she uses her watercolour skills with detailed ink sketch to apply the cityscape recording in her sketch book to pursuit a challenge of “100 watercolour drawing of Hong Kong”.
