Sophia Hotung is a Eurasian writer and illustrator from Hong Kong. Originally a tech analyst, she pivoted to digital art in 2021 when her autoimmune diseases made it impossible to continue her corporate career. Hotung is the artist behind The Hong Konger collection, which has been exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair, Soho House, Eaton Hong Kong, Oi Ling Antiques, Young Soy Gallery, and Art Next Expo. In 2022, she served as K11 ARTUS’s artist in residence, sold her first NFT through Sotheby’s at the Digital Art Fair, and created the mural wall at Hong Kong’s 2021 Affordable Art Fair. All her art is created on an iPad with a goal to imitate mixed media and fine art styles. Hotung’s work funds and supports advocacy and education initiatives for chronic disability issues, women’s rights, and the representation of Hong Kong in art and literature.
