DISTANCE TO ORIGIN

13A New Street Art Gallery is proud to present the 1st solo exhibition "Distance to Origin" by Lingmuki, running from 4th to 25th July. The exhibition will feature over 39 pieces of artwork. The magnificent natural scenery of Hong Kong, where mountains meet the sea, attracts countless visitors to explore. Whether locals or tourists, everyone comes to experience the wonderful charm of this city intertwined with nature, enjoying a cleansing and relaxing of the spirit.
Artist Lingmuki is undoubtedly a brilliant new star in the art world. Her creations have garnered widespread attention in multiple cities and have even been included in the private collection of Sheikha Latifa, the princess of Dubai. Lingmuki's works have been featured in prominent exhibitions both domestically and internationally, including in Sydney, Oxford, Singapore, Dubai, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, receiving high praise. She has participated as an artist in prestigious international art events like the Affordable Art Fair, Fine Art Asia, World Art Dubai, and Art Jakarta. Additionally, she has received numerous honors, including the International Visual Arts Council Award, the Asian Youth Art and Design Alliance Award, and the Global Chinese Art and Design Award.
Lingmuki was inspired by a profound line from Bei Dao literature: "If leaving and returning are the two ends of a road, the further you go, the closer you are to your childhood. It is this initial motivation that pushes me to the ends of the earth." This inspired her exhibition titled "Distance to Origin" , a series of works that guide the audience on a spiritual "journey" to reflect on the path of life. The dreams of childhood and the innocence of youth are closely intertwined with the exploration and growth of adulthood, weaving a deeply moving tapestry of life. Her works are rich in meaning, showcasing a diverse range of styles that cleverly blend Eastern and Western cultures. The exhibition "Distance to Origin" features two main series: the Oil Landscapes Series and the Little Muki Series. Although they may appear vastly different in theme and style, their core is closely connected. The Oil Landscapes Series stems from an exploration of space, reflecting her philosophy of journeying, while the Little Muki Series presents the intertwining of childhood and growth through a retrospective lens. This exhibition invites the audience to share in her profound reflections on the journey of life.
