In “Future Jataka”, Kongkee reveals the anxieties and desires stemming from a technology-driven age. Through projecting contemporary anxieties into a speculative future, the artist invites us to reevaluate the role of technology in this tumultuous age. Can technology facilitate artificial intelligence’s enlightenment, or do we instill spirituality onto these machines? Might we be inspired through our interactions with machines and androids? Might we learn more about ourselves, and our present?
