"The 2nd Hong Kong Paintings in Sai Yuen Lane” exhibition is now open for submissions.

Founded in 2015, Sun Museum is a non-profit independent museum dedicated to promoting the understanding and appreciation of Chinese art and culture, while supporting the development of Hong Kong artists and the local art. In 2024, the Museum relocated from Kwun Tong to its new premises at 1 Sai Yuen Lane, Sai Ying Pun, adopting a more diversified operational model to engage more actively with Hong Kong’s contemporary art landscape. The Museum has established multiple curatorial platforms, including “Sun Salon”, which fosters artistic exchange through group exhibitions; “Sun Delight”, which highlights individual artists or thematic presentations; and “Sun Connect”, which encourages cross-disciplinary arts engagement.
The opening exhibition of the Museum’s new venue in 2024 was the inaugural “Hong Kong Paintings in Sai Yuen Lane”, which presents over a hundred works by more than ninety Hong Kong painters through an open call. Envisioned as a biennial programme, the initiative aims to cultivate Sai Yuen Lane as a cultural landmark in Hong Kong Island and to support the sustainable development of local visual arts.
"The 2nd Hong Kong Paintings in Sai Yuen Lane” exhibition is now open for submissions. Selected artists will participate in a group exhibition at the Sun Museum in June 2026, which will run for approximately three months. Exhibitors will receive an allowance of HKD 2,000 (for one exhibited artwork) or HKD 3,000 (for two exhibited artworks).
